SYNOPSIS

En 1906, dans un pensionnat militaire autrichien, le jeune Törless assiste, fasciné et impuissant, au harcèlement d'un de ses camarades. Témoin passif, il explore les limites de sa propre moralité face à la méchanceté des autres. Une analyse sombre et puissante des racines du fascisme.

Volker Schlöndorff (1939- )

 

Figure majeure du Nouveau Cinéma Allemand, Volker Schlöndorff est un cinéaste passionné de littérature, souvent engagé dans l’exploration de l’histoire de son pays. On lui doit des films percutants, comme son premier long-métrage, Les Désarrois de l'élève Törless. Il a accédé à la reconnaissance internationale en 1979 avec Le Tambour, Palme d'or à Cannes et Oscar du meilleur film étranger.

A major figure in the New German Cinema, Volker Schlöndorff is a filmmaker with a deep passion for literature, often exploring the history of his country. He directed powerful films, including his debut feature, The Confusions of Young Törless. He achieved international acclaim in 1979 with The Tin Drum, which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes and the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
