SYNOPSIS
1888. L’archiduc Rodolphe, fils unique de l'empereur François-Joseph et d’Elizabeth, dite Sissi, tombe passionnément amoureux de la jeune et ravissante Maria Vetsera. Leur idylle provoque un scandale. Le récit d’un amour tragique illuminé par le charisme de ses deux interprètes.

Anatole Litvak (1902-1974)
Cinéaste d’origine ukrainienne, il s’est d’abord fait connaitre en Europe, notamment en France avec des films comme L’Équipage (1935) ou Mayerling (1936), puis est parti travailler à Hollywood en raison de ses origines juives. Parmi ses œuvres les plus notables, on peut citer Raccrochez, c’est une erreur ! (1948), La Fosse aux serpents (1948), Le Traître (1951), Anastasia (1956) et La Nuit des généraux (1967).
Anatole Litvak (1902-1974)
A filmmaker of Ukrainian origin, he first gained recognition in Europe—particularly in France—with films like The Crew (L’Équipage, 1935) and Mayerling (1936). Due to his Jewish heritage, he later moved to Hollywood. Among his most notable works are Sorry, Wrong Number (1948), The Snake Pit (1948), Decision Before Dawn (Le Traître, 1951), Anastasia (1956), and The Night of the Generals (1967).
